Persian Tabriz Pictorial Rug ( OMAR KHAYAM )

Description of Design and History 

This excellent example has the beige color pattern decorated with grape leaves symbol of happiness (wine) colorful roses and palmettos. In the center of the example we find a 16 point round medallion and the season of the spring and love story of Omar Khayyam, who asks love from the young beautiful girl. In the top central level is written woven by Mrs. Fereshte Jan, in the lower central level is written a dedication for the people who paid money to keep this art. The sky blue border decorated with different birds and animals like phoenix, lion, peacock, flowers. Two narrow border, one is cream decorated with cherry and jasmine and the other is a brown color decorated with only grape leaves.This excellent condition example ready for hanging on the wall as a house decoration.

Omar Khayyam History ( 18 May[2] 1048 – 1131 Hejra) was a Persian mathematician,astronomer, philosopher and poet. Omar Khayyám was born and buried and where his mausoleum today remains a masterpiece of Iranian visited by many people every year. Outside Iran and Persian speaking countries, Khayyám has had an impact on literature and societies through the translation of his works and popularization by other scholars.
