Description of Design and History 

There can be little doubt that this superbly woven and beautifully colored rug is the work of one of the Bakhtiary villages with garden design , from the chahar Mahal region of southern Persia, in the vicinity of the isfahan. in general lay-out and in the drawing of the cream color border and guards, it bears a strong resemblance to rugs made by Bibi Baft. An outstanding example of Bakhtiary village weaving in excellent condition. ready to use.
