Malatya is a town in Central Anatolia which is a marketing centre for village rugs and kilims woven in the region. Many of these are coarsely knotted rugs with geometric designs woven by Kurds.
Malatya Carpet and Kilims have limited number of designs, especially for the big size of Kurdish Kilims. As to small size prayer kilims, there is more variety of designs are motifs.
